19TH EOE-CONFERENCE – “CHILDHOOD AND NATURE” (2022)
The forthcoming EOE conference, taking place from 19th until 23rd of October 2022, will be hosted by bsj Marburg in cooperation with the the European Institute for Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Learning (EOE). The annual EOE conference is a key networking event for social and youth workers, teachers and educators, students and academics from across Europe. Topic of the 19th conference is “Nature & Childhood”.

NATURE 360° (2022)
A transnational Youth Meeting for 24 participants co-funded by Erasmus+ (Youth in Action Program). Involved countries are Finland, Slovenia, UK and Germany. A focus in this project lies on aesthetic outdoor education.

ELaDiNa – Early Language Development in Nature (2020-2023)
A strategic partnership in the field of innovation co-funded by the Erasmus+ program. The project brings together two topics of great importance to the context of early education: language development and children’s activities in nature. The core idea of the project is to create a new general approach for early language development in nature. In this project bsj Marburg cooperates with the Universitätsstadt Marburg and partner organisations from Slovenia and Sweden.

Realised Projects
“Developing Youth Work Processes and Youth Camp processes in the Framework of Adventure Education” (Youth Work Mobility Finnland 2021)
The TC is aimed to support the participants in their work in constructing and developing adventure & outdoor educational youth camps, programs and pedagogical contents, in their own countries and additionally on international level. The reason for this comes from the daily life of youth workers, needing to construct thematic programs.

ENOC – European Network of Outdoor Centres (2018-2020)
The Network was founded as a special interest group under the umbrella of the European Institute for Outdoor Adventure and Experiential Learning (EOE) by Brathay Trust (UK), bsj Marburg (GER), CŠOD (SLO) and Metsäkartano (FIN). ENOC aims to promote the value of Outdoor Education Centers for Lifelong Learning across Europe and to develop professional standards and diversity through sharing of practice on a European level. From 2018 until 2020 the network implemented a strategic partnership project funded by Erasmus+ with focus on aesthetic approaches in outdoor learning.

YOUTH MEETING ROMANIA (2019)
On the road together with a group of youngsters in order to explore the eastern part of Europe, to meet local youngsters, people and projects at different places. The group slept in hostels, in tents in the backyard of a farm, at a riding farm and under the open sky. Because of the “slow travel-concept” the youth group got to know the people and their living environment intensively.

Yourope – Du in Europa (2017+2018)
A transnational Youth Meeting with groups from Slovenia and Germany in cooperation with the county of Marburg-Biedenkopf and focused on political youth education and participation.
EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP THROUGH LANDSCAPES (2017)
A transnational Youth Meeting with the partner countries Slovenia, Finland and Germany. Funded by Erasmus+.

IVET-Venture (2013-2015)
In this “transfer of innovation”-project ("Lifelong Learning Programmes"), seven educational and vocational training providers out of four countries combined their expertise in the field of Initial Vocational and Educational Training (IVET). Through the adaptation of adventure- and experiential-orientated learning concepts to the needs of trainees in urban areas, IVET-VENTURE aimed to develop innovative approaches and offer opportunities for experience-based learning.

9th EOE-CONFERENCE (2009)

ESPRIT - Experiential Supporting Programme for Innovation in Training (2007-2013)
Co-funded within the Leonardo da Vinci Transfer of Innovation Programme. ESPRIT aimed at promoting the transfer and progressive inclusion of innovative experiential education and training methodologies, based particularly on Outdoor Experiential Learning, in education and training systems in Italy and Lithuania.

NEXT - New Experiences in Training (2000-2006)
Innovation-project with seven European partners aiming to develop innovative educational and qualification concepts for „Youth at Risk“. The project focused on the potential of adventure and experiential learning approaches in different pedagogical settings to support adolescents in the stage between school and professional life.

4th EOE-CONFERENCE (2001)
“Building up European Networks of Knowledge Transfer. Outdoor Adventure Education and Experiential Learning in European Exchange Projects”. Held in Marburg/Germany in cooperation with bsj Marburg on 4-8t October 2001.
